Mobil 1 Extended Performance question

Hi all,

I've a 2009 Highlander LTD V6 with 100,000 miles, Mobil Super 5w30 is the only oil I've used over the last 60,000 miles without any issue. OCI: 4-5k miles.

I want to go with a longer OCI and I'm considering switch to Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W30. if anyone of you use Mobil 1 Extended Performance, do you extend the OCI all the way to 15,000 miles or 12 months? Which filter do you recommend?

What kind of driving conditions? How many miles do you put on in a year?

Toyota says you can go 10k with any synthetic. But I wouldn't push 15k unless you do a lot of highway driving.

I drive about 12k miles per year, my driving condition are 60% city 40% highway.

Use a good filter like a Fram Ultra or a Mobil 1

Or the OEM.

On our 2011 Camry 4cyl I go 15k on Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20/ Fram Ultra filter.

From the sound of your driving conditions, I think once per year Mobil 1 Extended Performance & Fram Ultra would be an excellent combo.

You'll make a mistake. Don't be surprised if 20k miles later you'll need to make up a quart per 5k miles. Stay wit what you have. Which profit will extended OCI give you?

A friend switched his Ford Van over to Mobil 1 5w30 Extended Performance doing 15K OCIs at about 75K. When he sold it at 185K the engine was cleaner, performed better in all tempts. Today he has a Dodge van with 130K doing 15K OCIs. No problems.
