I mailed the samples to Oil Analyzers Indianapolis on Monday and received the report by Wednesday. On my submission form I did not include product brand or information. Only product viscosity grade.

Appreciate the post.

Could the small differences in the additive minerals be due to the measurement accuracy or is that on purpose by Mobil?

Variability in blending. IMO the addpack should essentially be the same across the entire FS line.

This, but it's more likely just margin of error. ICP elemental analysis has an MoE of +/-5%, and that's taking the time to fully scan the entire spectrum thoroughly which these labs aren't doing.

Looks like the same FS add pack for both grades. Thanks for testing! I'm currently using both of these oils & this helps come UOA time.

It would be interesting to see the KRL results for the European FS 5W-40 and 5W-30 and how they compare to the 0W-40.

I’m debating this 5w-40 FS Euro or 0w-40 Supercar with between a 3-4k miles OCI. If stopping valvetrain needle bearing wear and fatigue in addition to lifter plunger sticking (poor design) was the priority, I wonder which should theoretically do better.

Anyone? I’m down to these two but open to something I haven’t considered. The availability is a plus for the FS though.
