For some reason you can't get to the 5w30 anymore.

Props to you, Tim.

I still think the 5w-20 is the same fluid, viscosity-wise, as the old 0w-20. The 5w-20 has the same HTHS, same VI, and same viscosity at 40C and 100C as the old 0w-20. I called M1 for CCV and MRV specs, but they won't release any specs that aren't on the data sheet. Bummer.

After all this time, they still have a typo on the 5w-20 PDS, calling the typical properties for 5w30.

It's there and it's current. For whatever reason, 10w30 and 5W-20 weren't updated a few days ago. 5w30 isn't linked but there if you type in 5w30. Strange.

I'm probably going to use the 5w-20 in the winter, then use the 10w30 EP in the summer.

How old is this data sheet?

0w20 had a pour point 10 degrees lower than the 5w20

I never realized the Mobil 1 0w-20 had a flash point of 470F. GF-4 sucks for synthetics. That is why we now have Mobil 2.

5w-20 should still be very good IMO.

Interesting...the Mobil 1 5W30 oil now has a thicker viscosity at 100 C than the Mobil 1 10W30...11.3 vs 10.0.

Plus a higher flash point than the 10w30 and a lower pour point than the 5w20. Seems like the best choice going for Mobil 1.

I notice in the above posted specs for the Mobil 1 that the 15W-50 has a few fairly distinct differences from most of the other oils in the family:
Calcium is lower,
Phosphorus is higher,
Zinc is higher.
Can someone explain the effect of these differences?

Currently using Mobil 1 5w30 in a Toyota Tundra. Also am currently breaking in a recently overhauled Jaguar XKE engine with Kendall 20w50 conventional. Once broken in my plan is to go to Mobil 1 15W-50. This is why I have an interest in the above specs. Regards, Dave
