Mobil 1 Advanced Clean is here

Advance is always overpriced. Walmart pricing when it gets there will be significantly cheaper, just like Valvoline Restore and Protect is cheaper there.
With the filter combo deal it’s competitive. Right now you can get the CQ EP filter (or any other filter) and 5Q jug for $40 shipped. They also have a $15 gift card deal going as well for M1

Actually with $15 rebate it might well worth a try. Is that offer still active?

Competition is a good thing between Valvoline Restore and Protect and now Mobil 1 Advanced Clean,,keep drivin prices down :)....I'll sit back, use up my stash of Walmart jugs, and then see where the prices have landed. It's all good for the consumer.

Where’s all the “it’s just marketing” crowd?
Valvoline gets a bit more flack. Probably bc who owns them now.

I don't think Mobil is claiming it can remove piston deposits, and if so, they need to prove it as well. I think this AC oil is just the latest Mobil 1 offering that should be much better at preventing deposits and cleaning up existing sludge.

We really haven’t seen any evidence that this oil is actually anything special. How is this oil different than the other versions of Mobil 1? Where is the proof that it’s actually cleaning anything? It is beginning to look like they are just trying to market this oil as a competitor to Valvoline Restore and Protect and hoping to ride that wave

I assume because it’s Mobil 1. Don’t want to call their baby ugly.

Yes. In fact it’s the same claim as EP.

Yeah and every Tom, **** and Harry is going to start trying to claim it.

I think what's getting lost though in all this is preventing deposits in the first place.

I don't know, i always seen Mobil 1 is a very good company that "you cannot go wrong with" but o er the years it feels like their quality has been going down hill. So i have my reservations on this new line and would like to see others sharing their results first

Maybe it's too early to judge. We haven't seen any cleaned up my beater threads with pictures yet. Though, I am dubious it will do what Valvoline Restore and Protect is apparently doing.

Who actually buys multiple single quarts at those prices when it is so much cheaper in the jug? In fact I never buy single quarts even though my Corvette has a 7 quart capacity
I needed 13 quarts to do 3 cars. I bought two 5 quart jugs and three 1 quart bottles.

In future I can use the 1 quart bottles to hold the remains of oil from 5 quart jugs when there's some left over, and a 1 quart bottle is handy to store in car trunk.

However, going forward, I'll only buy 5 quart jugs. The 1 quart bottles I own will get refilled and reused many times in future.

P.S. - I was buying Maxlife. So jugs and bottles were ½ less money than Mobil 1 Advanced Clean. I wouldn't buy a $12 one quart bottle of anything.

It says 20K, but would you leave it in your engine for 20K?

Would you leave any oil in for 20K?

Also, Mobil probably means 20K of mostly highway driving. How many people drive mostly highway?
I drive mostly highway actually. My drive from home to work (Niagara Falls) is 80 miles, basically 95% highway. And the other main drive is 50 miles to my girlfriends place, also 95% highway.

If I was driving 40k a year I would do 20 k intervals. I do about 25k a year so I am comfortable with 10k intervals, at least in my Civic.

That makes sense for your situation.

My situation is the opposite.
