Mobil 1 Advanced Clean game on at WalMart.

Mostly being facetious : ) But unless the owner is stop and go plus a lot of idling, changing high-end synthetic at 3,000 miles is a waste IMO.
I think he was being facetious also. That being said, if you consider Royal Purple to be a high end synthetic then how would you categorize oils like Valvoline Restore and Protect, Mobil 1 Extended Performance, Mobil 1 ESP or Mobil 1 Advanced Clean? Taking this a step further, how would you categorize Amsoil Signature Series or top od the line HPL offerings? Consider this a calibration question and nothing more.

Thanks for the note, Astro Guy. I still have a 2001 Astro. Not much to look at but it hauls a load : ) I'll re-phrase my comment on Royal Purple as being more expensive than my usual choices; that is whatever low-end synthetic is on sale at Menards or Fleet Farm. I'll defer to your experience with the fine Valvoline and Mobil products.

Looks like a good substitute for Mobil 1 Extended Performance, especially with the greater PAO content. We current use an OCI of 6K on our DI Subaru and 15K on our PI Subaru. The pour point is -54C for AC vs -42C for Mobil 1 Extended Performance. Just bought 3 jugs

Used oil analysis on those oils would be very interesting. So more PAO and lower pour point make the oil suitable for longer OCI?

It's almost a cult like behavior shopping at Walmart. For myself it is an extremely rare occasion to get anywhere near one. All it took was me witnessing a robbery and armed car jacking at the Irvine Walmart to keep me away. I still will go on an occasion when there is a good sell. But man I'm on extremely high alert and go right when the doors open in the morning, get what I need and get out quickly.

You ain't lying man. One of the last times I was in Walmart was in December last year to buy a battery and then another trip to return my core and get my $12 back. It was almost worth keeping the old battery and not getting the core refund.

Mobil 1 Advanced Clean is a 20,000 mile oil, if you dare.
ANY oil can be run for 20,000 miles, if you're brave enough!!

On a side note, the local (Tucson) Wally is out of all flavors of both Mobil 1 Advanced Clean and Valvoline Restore and Protect.

Mobil 1 Advanced Clean : A recently released 20K mile synthetic oil that can remove sludge in as little as one oil change (yawn … nothing new to see here - keep it moving). I’m sure this is a nice oil but Mobil engineering and marketing needs to do better to differentiate cleaning ability from already good other Mobil 1 synthetic oils such as Mobil 1 Extended Performance and Mobil 1 ESP. In an example of using a first fill of Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 - I saw in a average maintained used vehicle actually remove chunks of carbon as well as sludge after the first oil change. Other than Mobil 1 Advanced Clean having a 20K mile rating (versus the approx. 12K mile Mobil 1 ESP rating) - what exactly is Advanced Clean doing differently to have increased cleaning ability over Mobil 1 ESP of even Mobil 1 Extended Performance ?

Dont know about ESP, but compared to EP, there seems to be no difference in cleaning. EP makes the same claim “cleans engine in one oil change”. EP might still be better oil than AC. Thats why AC is priced slightly cheaper than EP

So close to one another … Mobil is competing for shelf space against itself now !

I would rank it in between regular Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 Extended Performance. But if for $1 more you can get EP, not sure if it will sell well.

Initially it had 10-15% PAO that made it attractive, but now that its gone, its just another oil from Mobil
