Mobil 1 Advanced Clean game on at WalMart.

Bought a jug yesterday and a 209 filter. Changed it shortly after getting home

I’ve been curious about this oil for a while so I figured why not

I’m also curious about the new STP maximum performance oil and the new filter AutoZone has for sale. I know the oil is mostly marketing but I’m a sucker for a blue jug. I can grab a jug and filter today for $29. I figured I might change the oil in the wife’s Mazda today lol

How do you know that? - hopefully not bcs someone here - that doesn’t know (one way or the other) what this lube is capable of - they only know their own beliefs/bias - and share that quite often.

Where are all of the $500 jugs of oil???

Interesting, I wonder how it compares to their 0W ESP line. Sounds like it's pretty nice stuff if you ignore the "Valvoline Restore and Protect is eating our lunch and we need to do something about it" branding.
Not even apples to apples … and those that predict this could be a replacement for Mobil 1 Extended Performance are likely correct …
You need to understand the market - BITOG is not that.

I agree with what you said. I’m sure it’s fine oil.

First there was Valvoline Restore and Protect and now the empire strikes back. Personally I wonder how many of us actually have the problem that these oils claim to solve. My guess is not many.
I would wager a pretty significant fraction of cars on the road have some amount of ring deposits. The way the average person treats their vehicle (cold starts, short trips, high idle time, long OCIs on bulk oil) cannot be conducive to good results.

Or, you can be like @GW. and do everything right and still get stuck rings!

My BiL did 400k on bulk Mobil dino - jobber filters - it’s very engine dependent …
The GM 5.3L was fine - transmission, front end, and especially the Driver’s seat were done LoL …
