Mobil 1 Advanced Clean formulation change

my point was ...it is not the formulation, its the performance of the product that matters.

The performance change is also not quantifiable. We all know that they are looking for ways to make things cheaper, and have us believe that performance is the same or better. Cheaper/faster/better

TRASH OIL. Used it for 6 oil change intervals of 3500 miles and it didn't do anything. I used Valvoline Restore and Protect for only 3 OCI's 3500 and you could see the difference using a bore scope. With Mobil 1 everything was still black in the cylinders.

Be careful, there are a lot of Mobil 1 fan boys here, though it does seem a bit odd it did not do much of anything, Valvoline Restore and Protec may be a better product which it is.

And you are the one who easily believes a post like his because you don’t like Mobil.

I am struggling to understand your post - what was black?

If your piston tops were black - that’s not an oil problem. Are you saying that the cylinder walls were black? And that was the oil’s fault?

This is a 19 year old truck. Oil is the probably the least of its problems.

Oil was only around for 8 month, you are saying that you put 6x3500+3x3500 miles (31500) on your car in 8 month?

It’s completely unsubstantiated and who knows if it has any basis in reality. That’s the thing when people breeze in here with these extreme brand biases. Motor oil brands are just not that different.
