For 0w20, 5w-30 still has it, but maybe it will change

Probably after the Valvoline Restore and Protect sales for the last two years, Mobil decided to stop paying for Dexos license on some of their oils.
Taken this morning at Walmart. Guess I should have bought the DEXOS bottle to barter with
Also I count no less than 8? 9? flavors of Mobil 1 on those shelves. Talk about Average Joe “analysis paralysis” and the tyranny of choice….
Are we sure the 5w-20 was Dexos approved at some point? I’m not able to find any documentation of this. But, as is the norm, I can find it for the 0w-20 and 5w-30.

Yes 5w20 was dexos approved that was the recommended oil for my 2013 Chevy Malibu with the 2.5 Ecotec motor .
I meant this specific Mobil 1 Advanced Clean 5w-20. Not 5w20 in general. Many oil product lines may have 0w-20, 5w-20, and 5w-30 viscosities in them, but only the 0w-20 and 5w-30 showing Dexos approval for whatever reason.
Kirkland signature, pennzoil platinum, and Mobil 1 Truck and SUV are three that immediately come to mind. I’m sure there are many more.
I’m not sure that Mobil 1 ever had Dexos approval for this specific 5w-20.
It still is, thats a typo. Notice the pour point for 10w-30 is .36 as well
They removed dexos from one of them
when the old batch is over, it will be without dexos
It wasnt there to begin with when they updated to gf-7 but the jugs on the shelf have it so its definitely a typo

Pennzoil Platinum 5W-20 has intermittently claimed Dexos approval. The last I bought did have it, but newer bottles don't.

That’s Truck & SUVSoon there will be Mud or Mutt flavors too.
As of now only 5w-30 on their website. I recall 0w-20 had it also, maybe before gf-7. The jugs on the shelf could be older batch, it might take some time before new jugs without Dexos are in the store.

The Mobil 1 Advanced clean I just picked up for my Grandson is ISLAC GF-7A and dexos 1.

How so?
I could be mistaken, but Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy had a good % of PAO years ago. My BIL had a couple insane intervals running it back then, but I believe these results are more a function of the engine and highway miles.
This engine also began using oil during OCIs after these extended runs (which, we now recognize piston ring deposits are a thing and isn’t something a UOA will reflect)

Its 100% a typo, i would email them but ive asked them questions alot and they dont seem to know anything. The older SP formula had dexos 1 listed for 0w-20 but not for SQ. But i have bought SQ 0w-20 and it is dexos 1. Ive watched these pages like crazy waiting to see if there was a formulation change (again i am insane) lol
