EP has very much the same cleaning abilities as per their marketing. Also, 9.75 cSt @ 100C is on the lower side of SAE 30, so this is a turn off also

It’s amazing that they changed formulation so quickly after new product launch. That PAO must be really expensive. Now that PAO is gone, viscosity @ 100C is lowered — I am no longer impressed by Mobil 1 Advanced Clean, it’s just another Mobil 1 oil….

would assume they have obligations to blenders and looked at forecast - cut at home - know the feeling - I’m a Dad

If it cleans as they claim, I couldn't care less about base. Same with Valvoline Restore and Protect.

I'm sure the 5 jugs of 0W-20 I just recently bought was still the old formulation. They all have the same lot#. Manufactured Feb 25, 2026. All bought from Walmart online.

before it was GTL/PAO. Now it looks to be group II+ and PAO. Likely done to keep it available since GTL is gone.

I dont know if they are the same, but marketing looks similar.

They are not the same at all. You can tell just by smelling them (important note, you can't discern anything meaningful about the formulas from smell alone other than they are different)
Advanced clean smells really mild and EP is a punch in the face strongest oil ive ever smelled, puts redline to shame (i am insane)

Im assuming before. It was probably a month ago i used some. Ill buy the newest bottling date i can find and see if it smells different. I still got the other bottle so i can compare

Mobil AC does not claim to clean the ringlands like Valvoline Restore and Protect does. Valvoline Restore and Protect benefit of specifically cleaning the very hard carbon off inside the ringlands is huge. This stuff is on a much different level than sludge. Back in the day they made a nifty hand tool to do this to re-ring an engine it was really the only way to get those ringlands clean back in the day.

Why would you have 2 oils that are the exact same? You wouldn't. We don't know much of anything yet since it's still fairly new but if you believe the marketing....that's how companies work.

Understandable, I do think they should differentiate the Advanced clean better but we just don't know how or to what extent its cleaning capacity is.
