I could have sworn Mobil 1 5w30 was like a 10 CST @ 100 degrees...while Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30 was like 9 CST @ 100 degrees?

Now I see both of them are in the 11 range @ 100 degrees cst..when did all this change? and to everyone on BITOG who said Mobil 1 was too thin, do you guys take it back now? Or theres no current used oil analysis out of the new formula?

The 5w30 changed first, a year or two ago. The 5w30 EP changed about 6 months ago. The 10w30 grades followed respectively. Yes, many people continue assume it's "thin". I wish they would of left the 5w30 alone and just thickened up the 10w30 grade.

11cst seems on PAR, or thicker than most other 5w30 grades...how well does it hold up though? anybody care to share their insights of the newest mobil 1?

Or can someone supply me a link...I hope this has not been discussed before

does anybody remember the original Mobil 1 5w30 #s? how about the Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30? My memory can be screwed

Here some data from a few years ago, before they split off an EP version. If I can find some older data, Mobil 1 5w30 use to be ever thinner than this chart shows.

ahhh nice...I guess I remembered correctly that the old Mobil 1 5w30 is 10cst....now how about my estimate of Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30 @ 9 cst?? haha

bump for an answer...does anybody know what the original Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30 100 cst was?
