How does this one look to everyone here?

http://www.geocities.com/firecadet613/ramvan.jpg

Vehicle was broken in properly, and used dino oil up until about 20,000 miles when I switched it over to Mobil 1 which it has been using ever since. When I this oil change was performed I changed the spark plugs, air filter, PCV, and tranny fluid. I plan on changing the oil and sending it out again at 2,500 miles and switching it to 10W30 instead of the 5W30 version of Mobil 1, Dodge seems to perfer the 10W30.

Thanks,

Joe

Can you enlarge that some more? I'm having trouble reading it.

Any idea what caused the iron in that first sample? What was water & antifreeze then? Antifreeze always worries me.

TBN might have been interesting. Don't they provide OXD/NOX numbers?

If you hold your mouse over the image, a little icon will pop up in the bottom right of it. Clicking on that will enlarge it. Somethings going on with Geocities now and it's not working

IE on PC's doesn't provide any built-in image manipulation without add-on tools.

Can you type the numbers into your message? I usually mess something up doing that but it gets better responses.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Ok, here are my results, all typed out. I had to store the sample in a small subway drink cup, never used before, with a new lid on it and sealed in a ziploc bag until the new sample bottles came in so that might have messed up the results a little.

Thanks,

Joe

Not to say it affected things, but switching containers is a big source of uncertainty. Was it contaminated? Did important parts of the sample settle out? You know... Do yourself a favor and either get kits early or pick up a box of new canning jars. ($5?) Unless maybe you want to use the same cups as intermediate storage every time.

With oil lab results it almost seems consistency is more important than process.

David

How many miles on this sample?

The one thing that stands out is the small amount of antifreeze ....you should retest and if you see this again, pressure test the coolant system and check for oil contamination.

The oil looked good when I took it out, so I'm just going to attribute that to the switching containers. I will definatly test it again.

check your TOS. they say no image linking. that's why it's not working.

to cheat it, drag the 'e' icon from the address bar onto the body of the webpage.
