I'm in the Maryland suburbs of DC, "need" this stuff for my Saab 9-5 Aero. Walmart used to carry this when it was labelled "Truck and SUV". With the change to "Turbo Diesel Truck" it seems to have disappeared from their shelves, and I haven't seen it at any of the regular auto parts stores (Advance, Napa, Pep Boys). Also, never seen the Delvac 1 5W-40 variety which we now know definitively is the same thing.

Both are available from www.avlube.com at the premium price of ~$8/qt when shipping is included. Naturally I'd rather pay the $5 that it's cost up 'til now.

I've seen reports of the stuff showing up at chains in other parts of the country, but around here there seems to be nothing. Anybody find it in these parts? Suggestions for places to check that I wouldn't ordinarily think of? Any mules who can find some and would ship it to MD for a fellow BITOG'er?

Castrol syntec 5w40 is available at any autozone I've been to. Not sure if this helps if you specifically want mobil 1, but it is a 5w40

I'm saddened that D1 and TD have just priced themselves out of reasonable use. RTS is about the only thing worth it. You're looking at $32/gallon + for D1 and around $8/quart for TD.

It just is not worth it no matter how I run the numbers ..even if It's run out to one year. RTS lasts one year in my jeep just fine (9-10k) and probably would in my wife's (18k).

Troutman you magnificent *******. I called up TNT and sure enough they stock the stuff. Thanks for the tip!

Shell Rotella-T Synthetic. It's also a 5W-40 dual rated oil, though of the group 3 variety. Good stuff, I use it in my motorcycle, but for the Saab I prefer the Mobil 1.
