Here is the latest walmart shelf photo...
The bottle is the same but all new label and I expect that to happen to all of them.

Now is there a change of the formulation or is it just a marketing upgrade.

It says it meets ILSAC GF5, as well as API SN, SM, SL... < sounds like a new formulation, I dont remember the old ones saying that.

Man it ticks me off all the varieties of M1 you can get down there!

Up here, we have M1, and M1 EP - no AFE, no HM. I want to try AFE 0W-30!

And the prices...well, don't get me started!

:P

You cant see the pricess very well but they go as follows.

All are for 5qt Jugs.
The M-5000 goes for 11.50$
The M1-22.50$
The M1-HM is 24.50$
The M1-EP is 27.50$

Prices have been creeping up tho, last year this time around I have my receipt of an oil change that cost 20.50 for the M1-HM.. so thats 4$ in a year... who knows next year it may be up to 30$...

So i wonder if I should stash up on some oil

The mobil Delvac 15W-40 is 9$ on sale... 4qt jug...

Oh and you can get anything from 0W-30 to 5W-50 < Not kidding. Sorry picture is blurry but all those are on the shelf...

Pretty jugs. Addyguy, hit up WM in Obdensburg. $24/jug for all flavors of M1.

I bet its going to be more expensive... with the oil prices always on the rise I dont see how they will keep it at that level.
Id say next price is going to be 25-26$/ which is still cheap.

I hear ya! $42.00 a jug at Canadian tire and $41.00 a jug at the walmarts up here. Really unfair. The last time I checked our dollar was at par or just a little more then the American dollar.

That wouldn't seem to make sense, making it more expensive than M1 is now. My understanding, Super Syn is above M Super 5k but below M1 as far as protection. To me the price point would need to be somewhere between MS5K and M1. Not sure it will ever make it to Wally, especially in 5qt. jugs.

Probably cheaper than the more than 50% income tax that he is paying...

You better watch who you say that to or you might get slapped!

You guys should just come down here and shop if you can. We need the business and maybe are uneployment rate will improve.

so is the concensus---same formula only a label change or what?
because i was thinking of buying a few jugs to use in my low mileage(76k) dodge spirit for when i get it back from having the head gasket done.the plan is super tech for the first o/c after the head gasket then use mobilclean 5000.
when i ran it in my suzuki it cleaned too well.i ended up with more oil spots on the driveway.lol

PYB clean out up to 40% of sludge on the first oil change..40% of my oil is now on the garage floor. JK

Cool that, for the moment anyway, the Super5000 is the same price as the Clean5000. Do you think WM will have a clearance sale on the Clean?

They aren't lowering the price at any of the Wal-Marts that I've been to. They're just stocking the new bottles behind the old ones.

I never understood the need to redesign the bottle so often. The label sure but the bottle just seems like an unnecessary enormous expense that doesn't have a huge bearing on sales.
