Second UOA on this car. 41 1/4 mile passes this summer - about half with the air filter removed and banging the rev limiter on 2-3 shift on almost every pass. Motor is internally stock with longtube headers, ORY, and a 3500 stall. Runs consistent 12.31-12.35 1/4 mi @109mph with a 1.6 60ft. 100 mi a day daily driver that gets hammered like a rent a car.

Previous uoa was with Penzoil platinum 5-30 from a quicky lube. Oil pressure was too low for may taste so I dumped it for the TSUV 5-30/15-50 mix. Just bought this caar last november for $5000 with 98 K on the clock as a replacement for my 94 formula that I sold with 256 k miles on the clock still running perfect never had a valve cover off, original tranny. That car had m1 every 10K. Just installed GC 0-30 after reading about the M1 group III deal. We will see if this stuff is all you EURO lovers say it is although it will be run through the winter while the dragstrip is closed.

So this is a 50/50 mix of those viscosities? In the past I used to recommend that mix to a lot of LS1 owners, but I haven't mentioned it in a while. It seems to be working very well here!

Hopefully you'll see as good wear numbers with GC in your LS1 as I've been getting with mine.

Your car is running nice and strong too! Mine has run 109.4 mph trap speeds too, but with street radials and the stock stall convertor it doesn't come out of the hole as quick as yours, so it's best ET is only 12.81.

thanks patman yes it is about a 50 50 mix but then I top up with 15-50 so it may be a little thicker. the GC does not show as good oil pressure when hot so I am a bit concerned. What do I use to thicken GC 0-30 ? I will probably run it as is for the winter. Will be doing heads , cam and a new oil pump in the spring. This engine has had consistently lower oil pressure than my last LS1 and LT1 but it looks good ina analysis and runs strong as ________. Oh ya beautiful vette you got there. someday ......

Don't worry about thickening up GC, it'll do just fine on it's own, even in hot weather.

I'm very happy with the oil pressure I get with GC. With 200F oil temps, I see about 30psi at idle and about 42-44 psi at 70mph (which is 2000 rpm in my car)

Patman: Those are some impressive times in your stock LS1 corvette. I used to have a '98 LS1 M6 Trans Am. I went to the track once and got 13.5@105mph (just had lid and catback) Wasn't too happy with the time... but it was 95degrees out.
P.S. I ran GC in that car and really liked it.

In 95 degree heat my car runs around 13.3 to 13.5 at 105 as well though. When I ran the 12.81, it was only 38F.

Toneloc Im currently having a 700hp capable 4l60 built right now which should be more than enough for the 450 rwhp I will be pushsing through it next spring. As for the 10 bolt its only you 6 speed guys that have problems with them. I do have 2 spares in the shed that I picked up Just in case. Pat man surprised the heat makes that much difference in your car. I hot lapped mine 14 times one 85 deg afternoon and all runs were within 3 tenths and mph was within .4mph.
My LT1 on the otherhand felt like it lost about 2 seconds when hot. I cant wait till next season---Low 11s h+c then spray what it takes to get a 10.99 on my DD and still get low 20s MPG.

When my car had the stock intake on it, there wasn't as much of a varience in how it ran on a hot day compared to a cold day. But with the Vararam intake, it grabs it's air from the bottom right near the fog lights, so on very cold days it is so efficient that it makes a lot more extra power over the stock setup.

Right place right time. Guy was trading in for a new LExus SUV and dealer only offered him 4500 for it. Here in the northeast these cars can be had very cheap. I see nice LT1 cars go ~2500-3500 all the time. Tone -- I wish it was a TA. I had a 2000 6 spd TA. sold it for 16k with 80k on the clock. The 98-02 TA is one of the baddest looking cars ever built IMO
