I didn't plan on having this many miles on the oil change, but life is what it is. I'm going to probably do two Auto-RX cycles and check again.

Looks decent to me. I'd cut back though to more reasonable level. B/S Labs has become really bad at UOA interpretations. The oil has 23,000 miles on it, a TBN of 2.0, viscosity 2.5 cSt where it started (noticed it thicken back up over the long drain). Pb is high. I agree with them on the sodium and some of the wear such as Al maybe elevated slightly but nothing alarming at all. 9qts helps.

This engine has an aluminum block, silicon cylinder bore, so all that Fe wear is either coming from the cam chains or the crankshaft journal bearings. I'm not sure how Blackstone could diagnose piston scuffing in an engine that does not have iron sleeves?

The acceleration in the rate of wear is not a good thing at all for Fe, Cu and Pb. Looks to me like the bearings took a huge hit. Fortunately, with a V12, there are a lot of them!

Oh, and the viscosity rise would probably been even worse, if not for the fact that this engine has some fuel dilution going on, too.

9qts is a huge sump which probably saved it from being a lot worse.

I'd definitely run auto-rx to clean any sludge/deposits which surely developed during this OCI.

How many miles on this car?

Doubt there are any sludge/deposits.

OAI would have said this report is normal in terms of wear metals.

Amsoil SSO is good for one year/35k miles. Can this car use a 30wt? It would make for a very good comparison.

I think they would have flagged the Pb. Have you seen the new reports?

UP to 35,000 miles . Without looking I don't think the levels are at the condemn limits , could be close . It would be nice to see a comparison. The results are way better than Supertech dino oil

I think I could definately go 15k/1yr on this oil with an extra filter change and a half quart makeup oil.

I think I will stick with Castrol GTX and 7500 mi oil changes after the ARX cycles. I may even just do a single ARX cycle, and then a 7500 mi oil change after and see how things are doing.

I think the TBN of 2.0 is amazing, but it is a big sump. Could have been worse.

Sodium at 39 begs the question of whether it's from road salt, ocean spray, or coolant leak. Potassium is only 4 and if you find out the ratio of potassium to sodium in the coolant you can maybe rule out it being a coolant leak.

I'm not sure exactly what is in the car right now. I know it isn't BMW coolant as that stuff is blue, and what is in the car is green.

I'll be changing it soon with fresh BMW coolant, but for now it stays. I'll double check and see if any oil is in the coolant, but there wasn't any last time I checked.
