MMO...Opinions wanted.

i found that the one gallon jug of mmo will crack and break if its in cold. ie out side in the winter. so use a one gal gas can.
The only mystery about MMO is why people still use it.
For gas, get a POA (Techtron) cleaner.
For oil, get a better oil (synthetic) or Auto-Rx.
Its got only one use in my mind. To squirt into spark plug holes after the engine has gotten some water. As in a marine engine where the water cooled exhaust manifold starts to leak internally.

Knowing what I know now, when I MMO'ed my truck, I would have mixed it with 15w40. However, it still did well when mixing it with 5w30.

I do not believe that MMO helps fix much of anything these days. No one on BITOG is doing real scientific testing, its all very subjective. Just too many variables and usually only one or two vehicles. Possibly MMO helped fix some things 25 years ago. But oils and gas have come along way in 25 years. I am very skeptical of any product that can be added to the gas or oil. If indeed MMO helped fix a problem with a car, there are other newer products that would work better.
Basically no auto maker recommends to add anything to the oil. They say in this day, that the oil has all the proper additives needed. Certainly there can be deposits around the valves and in the cylinders. The POA based cleaners have been proven to deal with that problem effectively. With respect to injector cleaning, there is fuel rail cleaning and then there is the removal and send the injectors out for cleaning.
I do have a container of MMO but don't use it much if at all.

If you have varnish, sludge or a sticking lifter [just to mention a few things] MMO fixes it the same as it did in the 1970's when I started using it for myself. Oil today is much better there is no doubt, but occasionally you'll come across something sludge prone, or neglected in need of help. For about $4 a qt MMO does better than products costing $15 a qt up to $50 a qt or more. As far as proof, I've seem enough visual results to be convinced, as have other members here. I don't think the chemistry of sludge changed all that much over the years. If anything it might be even easier for MMO to break it down now. JMO
As a side note if newer oils didn't form sludge, and engines were designed so that sludge couldn't form there'd be no need for Kreen or A-Rx either. But that isn't the case. Then we have people neglecting their engines, even the best oil in the world can't protect against neglect.

With a reman engine in my Jeep I do not have much to worry about engine wise with cars, SUVs. So I do not need MMO or Techtron or Auto-Rx.
So I bought a Bobcat 843 and that is now my project machine. No MMO in it.

I gotta hand it to you Don, you're one sharp guy! LOL If you look in the fuel additive section I commented positively about TCW3, so I might be expanding my horizons. Hey I'm even using M1 in the Aerostar, can you imagine? LOL The fact that I paid less than $2 for a qt of it [Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w40] might have contributed though.

Heck, I even tried some MMO myself last winter trying to quiet a little noisy lifter at cold start in my Tacoma. I *THINK* it helped, but I'm not sure, as the weather warmed up about a month after I put it in. Who knows, I may even try it again this coming winter, but I'll add it earlier in the year if I do.
