Yes sir...

If you have a dirty engine and you want to clean it up with MMO, from my experience Pennzoil Platinum works great with MMO, you guys can look at the photos of my valvetrain pics in the Photo Section.

I stuck to 3000 mile OCI's with Pennzoil Platinum and MMO, if your engine is dirty, why would you want to extend your OCI.

wish i still had my 1990 ford hightop conversion van cant find em like this anymore that thing was cherry inside and out perfectly maintained 90000 mile i c4c ed it for a [censored] hyundai lol

And maybe Pennzoil Ultra and MMO would be even better than Pennzoil Platinum and MMO. I agree that if somebody has a dirty engine the first order of business is to get the engine clean with short OCIs and until the engine is clean don't think about extending the OCIs.

It will be the MMO that does the bulk of the cleaning, no point in paying extra for PU, until after the clean up. I agree, I'd can the idea of extended drains until after the engine is clean, no matter what is used to clean up an engine.

Would MMO interfere with the cleaning properties of a high quality synthetic like PP or PU?

No because it achieves it's cleaning abilities with things other than oil additives that are known for cleaning.

I haven't heard anything negative about using it in the fuel though, except that it can wreak havoc with some of the more advanced oxygen sensors that are found in some premium brands like Lexus and Mercedes.

Before anyone flames me, let me just say that I like the MMO product very much and have used it with excellent results but I'm just opening this up for a discussion.

"MMO shouldn't be used on a consistent basis"

I think you *may* mean on a CONSTANT BASIS . Using MMO CONSISTANTLY the last 500-1000 Mi prior to each OC is the way to go IHMO.

Wish we could still get MMO in Canada!

I 'held off buying it b/c I thought it was too expensive...now with all the good stuff I hear about it, I'd love to get some!

Ah well, live and learn.....

MMO can be used on a "consistant basis", if fact they suggest it at each OCI. Although they want to sell it so........

Having said that in a clean engine that isn't necessary IMO. I prefer to use it during the winter, or for the last 1000 miles of an OCI.

I have a college buddy, his father has been using it, 1 qt at each OCI since the 1940's, my friend has been doing the same thing since the 1970's. Spotless problem free engines would be an understatement describing their vehicles. I had the pleasure of helping my buddy change a VC gasket on an old HM Toyota he owned. NY severe driving short trip service was the use this car saw. Under the VC was as clean as the day the car rolled off the line. Quiet, no oil burning, great running HM car. No bearing damage.

More than 1 member but I didn't see data so I couldn't believe it either.

Ok, thanks for the clarification.

Since I believe the inside of my engine on my Marauder is clean, I feel that I do not need to use MMO on a consistent basis.

May through October is the warmest time of year in my area so during that time I plan on NOT using MMO in the oil.

November through April is statistically the coldest time of year in my area, so my engine will take longer too warm up, so during this time I think it is beneficial to have MMO in my oil.

I also believe that the colder months is where my engine has a better chance of building up any junk or deposits and the use of MMO will probably prevent this from happening, my car ran great with MMO in the oil last winter.

The only time I can see someone using MMO in there oil during the warmer months is if they are using it too clean up there engine.
