Hey guys,
Iam on my 2nd MMO OCI and wanted to switch over to a synthetic and mabye run it for around 6k(PP or M1) and then switch over to AMSOIL Signature Series.

Has anyone here used MMO with synthetics and extended OCI--5-7k?

Thanks!!

I'm still not sure why you'd want to "transition" using PP or M1 when your engine is as clean as it will get without pulling it apart and degreasing it.

That said, there is no issue with MMO and synthetics. The only difference between conv. and syn. is the add pack for the most part and with MMO in there I couldn't foresee that being a negative thing.

I know people who have done 6 months or ~ 7,000 miles with MMO, I haven't. If you have any fear you can run your PP or M1 for about 3-4000 miles then add the MMO for the last half of the OCI. That will do a good job cleaning, only hassle is you'd probably have to drain off some oil before adding the MMO. I recently did just that, by removing my oil filter and emptying it, then I added MMO after I reinstalled the same filter. No problems doing that.

I'm running 1/2 quart of MMO with 5 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum 5w20. This is my first run with MMO and only a little past 3k. It's darker now than at the end of the last run with PP at 10k. May only make it to 5-6k before I get to uncomfortable to go any further. This is your 2nd run so it may not be as bad but I wouldn't expect to go any further than if you were using dino.
