Mixing with Mobil 1 Racing?

Mobil 1 racing sounds like a good oil, and I like everything on the specs but the viscosity. What do you guys think about mixing it with a little Mobil 1 15w-50 to thicken it up to around 14-16 cst?

Thicker has not been shown to be better here in all cases. Ford V-8's are doing fine on 20 wt. I would at least consider not thickening it up. What are you driving?? The 350? It has shown that it likes a thicker oil. Hopefully you will get other suggestions. And don't forget the manual probably recommends 30 wt. And we are not talking 100+ degree summer right now.

Have you figured out the proportions required? The 15W-50 stands on it's own merits so well, that I'd probably just run it straight if I needed this viscosity range. The 15W-50 already has a nice additive pak.

What is the sump capacity?

5 qt sump, plus 1 qt filter.

I would think that 2 qts of 15W-50 and three qts. of Mobil 1 Racing should get you in the ballpark.
