Is it rated API-SM? Use it.
Try it and let us know how she runs. If the engine doesn't like it, it will let you know with increased racket and lowered fuel economy. Your straight Ilsac GF5 lube is way under-additised to give the cats 9 lives and the engine 1/2 a one.
Note that 100PPM additive is just 1/2 gram out of 5,000 a likely EPAW treat rate for a typical sump.

That AV oil is too good for the lawn mower and would probably start seeping out every crevice.

You can do what uou want actually. I wouldnt be worried about 1 quart of that diesel mixed in.

Call them at 1800bestoil and ask them. I think the lawnmower is a good idea personally. Maybe change a neighbors lawnmower too
Sure you can. I been mixing oils for over 40 years. If they are good oils, you will have no problem. The add paks are not that far apart.
I'd do it in a heart beat to use up what I had.
I went to the HZRD Waste disposal free weekend last to get rid of a bunch of the folks old paint. They had a free table with maybe 18 qts of this an that oil. Some Castrol 10W-60 Syn that will go in the Harley, some Mobil 1 5w30 that will go in the Saab next round, etc. All free
A change will be what I have plus top off oil (likely Super Tech 5w30 Synthetic...). It'll run fine for 6K and then do it again.
Way to much concern about mixing. We all do it on trips when we have to top up en route with whatever good oil is available. What's the difference if we do from the get go ...

While under warranty, I wouldn't do it - if you ever have an engine problem they may give you a hard time about mixing 5W-20 with 5w30 diesel spec oil.
Once out of warranty - mix away.

I thought of a Pennzoil Platinum 0w20/ PU SRT 0w40 Blend since I have quite the stash of each. Maybe in the future
Dealer will never know if you mixed oil. They don't care - as long as it was changed with " something" this isn't a 150hp/L turbo. the VW oil will give your ILSAC weak-kneed ginger ale a needed.
