On my last ATF change in a Ford Taurus with AX4N, I used the following (poured in this order):
2 quarts of made in 2004 Motorcraft Mercon V sealed bottles (it looked somewhat thicker than the rest)
2 quarts of Castrol Mercon V
8 quarts of NAPA Mercon V, bought 1.5 years ago, still sealed (rumored to be a Valvoline product)
3 quarts of Castrol Mercon V Advanced Performance Series (Since AAP didn't have enough of the "regular" Castrol Mercon V in stock)
Some of the new fluid might have been flushed out through the transmission cooling line with remnants of the old, as I tried to make sure to get rid of much of the old fluid as I could. Would mixing so many brands cause any problems?
