That oil has a bunch of approvals for fancy Mercedes and Porsche etc, my Jeep doesn't need that much protection. I have a simple low power engine

I would suggest going to the VOA thread and search for 0W-30. Read through each until you find what you're looking for at a price you're willing to pay.

Will the mixture work safely in the engine? ESP is great. But I want it to be 10.0 thick, not 12. And I wonder what the VOA of the mix would look like. Please don't tell me you want me to be your guinea pig. I want to know if it is safe before trying.

YES. Indeed the exact cocktail I been using in the wife's car. Part 0w20 + part 0w30. That is until I empty my reserves.
I think once I am ready to restock I will swap over to 5w30 going forward.
I am not in the least bit concerned about MAYBE losing 1-2 mpg by going with something other than CAFE's 0w20 they have pushed on everyone the last several years. Really.... What is next? They gonna try to force us all into using some "baby oil?"

So, you think that--

1-"Overprotection" would harm your Jeep?
2-Your mix would protect better?
3-A VOA would confirm #2?

I’m the guinea pig. ESP 0W-30 in my Jeep as we speak. Engine is happy and oil is happy. 250f oil temps off road and ESP doesn’t even break a sweat!
