How is the quality on these? I have a couple Mitsu made my Denso filters for my car. Part number is MZ690072. It seems like it is a pretty good filter, blue (appears to be silicone) adbv. But other than that, any info on them? I'm not sure if they are built to Mitsu specs and different than the aftermarket Denso filters?

Just wondering for once if I am better off using the OEM filter vs a quality aftermarket.

I've heard good things about the DENSO-made Mitsu OEM filters. I imagine the MZ690072 is similar to either the DENSO aftermarket 150-1009 or 150-1010, the latter being what I use on my Nissan. (Check out this post for one that I cut open.) It appears to cross-ref to a Purolator 14610. If the price is right, I think it'll be a good filter for you. But I probably wouldn't advocate paying more if a PureONE, WIX, or something along those lines is less expensive.

I saw that post before. I'll have to cut one open when I am done running it. That filter appears to be a little different from my Mitsu filter. The base is different, and the adbv is different for sure, but as far as the insides I will cut it open.

My only concern about the P1 filters is that on two of my engines it seems to have a little bit more start up noise than when running the oem filters. On my other two engines they are fine.

'06 Mitsu 3.8 Mivec more start up noise (or slower to get quiet)
'08 Kia 2.0 more start up noise than the OEM Hyundai Filter
'95 Dodge 5.9 no difference between any filter
'95 Ford 5.0 no difference between any filter

Looking at the densoaftermarket.com, the MZ690072 cross-refs to the 150-1006, 150-1109, and 150-1010. My post with the cut open pictures is of a 150-1010. I don't know how the 150-1006 and 150-1009 differ in construction. I wonder if the MZ690072 is one of the DENSO filters that I've heard about that don't have endcaps. The picture on the box in the pictures I posted show what I'm referring to.
