Misfiring Ranger with the 3.0L Vulcan - diagnosis steps?

Shop sounded like they went parts cannon with it, it got new plugs, wires and coil assembly.

That would be my first guess, I'd be right most of the time. Glad its Motocraft because the rest of the stuff out there is junk... actually the 3 times i personally used that parts cannon on Rangers my hits were 100%... Of course I was paying so it was my Linstock to touch to the priming hole...

I was seriously staring down the path of replacing the heads, lurked through TRS and another Ranger/Explorer forum. As soon as the paper towel test passed, I knew to focus on the essentials for an engine to run - spark, fuel, air.
