First time I've cut open an oil filter. I've been really busy this summer so my wife took her vehicle to a local independent guy. Vehicle is a 2011 Buick Enclave with about 70k miles. The oil and filter have 1684 miles on them. Mighty Guard II filter, unknown oil. I'll find out what oil tomorrow. I changed early because of a loud tick that lasted about 5 seconds on startup.

Kendall Full Synthetic AC Delco PF63 which is about 2 inches longer.

Are those pig mats?

The engine in the enclave, traverse (perhaps gmc terrain too?) has a reputation for being filthy. Sadly, it looks like this one is starting to fit the part. The poor thing is only a 2011.

Short OCI's with a quality synthetic are your best friend IMO.

You mean the 3.6 LLT/LFX High feature V6 GM puts in almost everything?

They do need more maintenance then GM recommends or pays for

I see that you used the Acme "Angry Beaver" filter cutter. That's what I use if the filter is too big for my Harbor Freight exhaust cutter.

True. I punched a hole and used needle nose to basically tear it apart. Pig FTW. The filter looked fine to me but the ticking went away.

I typically stay away from jobber filters, but this filter looks pretty good!

Looks like the same Purolator made design used in classics, pennzoils and others.

Welcome to BITOG!
