This came of my son's 2016 Ford Fusion with 1.5L Ecoboost. He had his last oil change at an unspecified quick change place. All I know is he did pay to have a synthetic oil. He said the oil life monitor was about 25% and wanted to change it. We put in Valvoline Advanced Syn. 5w20 with a Wix Xp filter.

The anti drainback valve is nitrile. It was very stiff. I doubt it was doing it's job well.

The media is supposed to be a microglass synthetic. Sure felt like paper to me. It was fairly easy to tear by pushing on the pleat, but it was intact until I started messing with it.

The center tube was glued to the end caps. One come off with just an easy twist.

OP: my opinion or what I’ve saw is those filters don’t truly have a micro glass synthetic media too. Cheap jibber filter.

Thank You for c&p 👍🍺 🇺🇸

Based on their website, this is their lower level filter with paper media. The one with the micro glass syn has a silver body paint and I’d be down to try one, have no idea where to buy tho

Correct, I meant to type "Microfiber" not Microglass.

This is their mid tier offering according to their website...Mighty Engine Parts

While searching I did see an announcement from 2018 that said Purolator was to start making thier filters.

This one said "Hecho en Mexico" on the can.
