Might this Jeep I bought be considered a unicorn?

A 2006 Liberty isn't rare but one with a diesel is. I think they were only sold for 2 years. If that doesn't qualify it as a unicorn, the mileage probably should.

They are common in Europe. Friend has one, diesel, 2.8 VM. Strong engine, but high consumption, body rust badly. He did some maintenance but it is fairly reliable for a old 4x4.

Air blew ice cold. That and the body and interior look as clean as a 60,000 mile car.

There was/is a member on here with one and they swore by it. IIRC they had a few other Jeeps, too. Not too sure about those early VM diesels when they first immigrated but that thing is awesome either way.

Good luck with this. I thought Jeep had enough issues on their own without adding a diesel to the mix. I did love my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee (after I replaced the engine).

Keep the fuel super clean. Change fuel filters on schedule.

Should be able to get at least $3K if it runs good.

I did and the auction fixed it. Can't tell it was damaged.

3K USD?
Good luck with that for a high depreciation model not noted for its durability with an engine option few had any desire to buy new and 300K miles.
I wouldn't give you a grand for it however well it presents and I'd not mind having another diesel having not owned one in twenty years.
