Microsoft visual C++ runtime buffer overrun detect

I missed my favorite show smallville last week when I had to work. My wife forgot to tape it. Anyway, I have been using Torrentspy to download episodes for the past few years. I used it to download last week's episode. Well, the only software that I have that can play the mpeg-4 file was quicktime. However, when I play the file, it will play for a few seconds then give me that above message "microsoft visual C++ runtime buffer overrun detected; program is corrupted and will be shut down" I uninstalled and installed the latest quicktime software. still same message. every other aspect of my pc is running/working fine. have Ez firewall and EZ antivirus on all the time. anyone know what this is all about? what can I do to fix it?

Do you have access to a Mac to try that file on?

Have you updated iTunes recently? iTunes updates Quicktime automatically.

I don't have a mac. Using Windows XP service pack 2. I installed itunes. it does the same thing. the file will play with realplayer but it is audio only, no image at all. I know the file isn't corrupted or anything because with realplayer plays perfectly..the audio portion that is.
