Exactly like the STP XL oil filter and black Federated Auto parts XL oil filter.

I have been using the white micro gaurds on my Audi A4. There is a video floating around that show about 20 different manufacturers for that particular filter. It is the same as the factory oem model. Can not beat the 5 dollar price.Correct, private label/white box of the Pro-Tec line.
I just bough a number of Wix XP Filters and was concerned when I read that they are only filter 50% of 20 Micron Particles I have done some reading that was was based on this B2=20 and was said to mean 50% filtration of 20 Micron particles. I haven't been able to find any specs for the Wix XP filters other than its ability to capture 35 micron particles for a total of 32 grams and that is speaking just to the amount of capacity it can hold vs the regular Wix. if the Wix XP did claim B2=20 then its actually saying is can capture 95% of 2 Micron Particles as this link https://www.cumminsfiltration.com/s...oduct_lit/asia_pacific_brochures/3301016A.pdf explains so if the Wix XP does claim B2=20 then it is a better filter than the regular Wix as well as many of the other filters on the market.This filter is 99% @ 25u, which is more efficient that the WIX XP, but more along the lines of the standard WIX filters (95% @ 20u).
WIX uses their own beta format ... they don't use the industry standard. When WIX says beta B2=20 they mean 50% @ 20 microns. This has been discussed in the past many times. They don't mean 95% @ 2 microns when they say B2=20. WIX doesn't explain their efficiency beta format, but if you called WIX's customer service they will explain it as I've described.
And as for the B2=20 I have never seen that claim about a Wix filter but I have seen it in many posts. And so if I read your post correctly Wix is saying 2/20=6/20 is the industry standard way of saying B6=2 ( 50% Filtering of 6 Microns ) and B20=20 ( 95% Filtering of 20 Microns ).Here's a snap-shot of the beta rating on a WIX 51049.

It means 50% efficiency at 6 microns and 95% efficiency at 20 microns.
The numbers on the left of the = sign are the beta ratios/efficiencies: beta 2 = 50% efficiency and beta 20 = 95% efficiency.
The numbers on the right of the = sign are the corresponding micron sizes that go with the efficiencies. 6 microns goes with beta 2 (50% efficiency) and 20 microns goes with beta 20 (95% efficiency).
That is WIX's own beta/efficiency format, and does not follow the normal industry standard.
If the WIX XP was 95% at 2 microns I'd be buying them all day long. But they are not that efficient ... basically no spin-on is that good.

Before they went the "proprietary" route, the WIX website showed the beta to be B2=20, which is 50% @ 20u. Then the beta efficiency numbers disappeared and became "proprietary" is asked.It seems the main claim in the posts about the Wix XP Filters are they are really B20=2 which means ever second 20 Micron particle is passing through the media if that is the case then who would spend more money for a Wix XP compared to a regular Wix filter ? Either Wix is fooling everyone into buying a worse product for more money or there is confusion about what the filter ratings for the Wix XP actually are. I will try and contact Wix to see if they can clear this up.
Ok thanks, I did talk to the Wix Technical support and they did say "its proprietary" and they mentioned that their XP filters are designed to allow larger particles to pass so that it could hold more particles and that is becomes more effective at filtering smaller particles the longer it is used. So I was wrong clearly Wix is charging more money for a worse filter from the point of view of filtering if you look at it from the point of view of larger capacity to hold particles I guess its better ? Here's an ISO 4548-12 test done on a WIX XP. It came in at 62% @ 20u and 88% @ 35u (not 99% @35u like your link in post #33). So really not far off from 50% @ 20u.
