Mainly because I had 10 qts left of the 0w-20, and lots of 5w-30, and split it between two oil changes. It’s out of warranty this fall and plan on switching it over to 5w-30 or 0w-30.why are we playing backyard chemist mixing two completely different oils?

2 out of 7 qts isn’t going to cause any major issues. How many of you guys run one qt HPL and 4 QTs of x oil, how many of those cause issues?
Can you point to where it says it’s formulated to blend with any oil? I don’t think it is anything special for blending. I think the only reason they tell you to blend it is the fact it will clean to much to run full strength on the first oil change.HPL EC30/40 formulated to mix with other oils. it’s really not an issue. Many shops use vac pumps to change oil and they leave quite a bit of oil. Then use a completely type different oil, maybe a synthetic vs conventional.
