Michelin or any tire code date advice

Tire aging is a function of temperatures. If the tires were properly stored, 1.5-2.5 years is a non-issue. CapriRacer mentioned at one point that 3-yr old new tires that were properly stored showed no material difference in performance.
So wait, are you telling us that you believe that tire that DT is selling you was properly stored for 2 years? Have you ever seen how they store tires? And not to mention that you have no idea where that tire was.
local DT here doesn’t have one tire properly stored. They are all in horizontal position and not on the wheel. Not to mention that they have 2 containers outside where they store tires using scientific method of trying to bunch up inside as many as possible tires in shortest period of time.

In this case, I have a choice of going with Sam's club but I chose DT because I had good experience with them and falling into the DT loyalty bucket. I'll go to Sam's club and check their date code. If they are 20s, I'll call DT to return.

1.5-2.5 yr old tires that were not in-service? Not really a concern IMO.
Over 2 years old is when you should get a rather significant discount

At Walland I have gotten sometimes over half off when the tire is 3 years old

Twice a year Wallland is a great source of $25/$50 tires
