Also Ironically, the text printed on the back of the container word for word was IDENTICAL with the exception of the brand names on the Pennziol and SuperTech jugs at walmart yesterday. The containters and prices were different.

i looked at the aap merc v today . its another wpp product. I was disappointed . it is not even semi-synthetic. there are much better choices.

Merc V. really smoothed the shifts on my Expedition's 4R100. Most people would like that, but I prefer a firm shift. It now has M1 ATF (non Mercon V) in it again.

The newest Mercon V is completely backwards compatible with Mercon, I was in the same boat as you and was concerned as well, since originally the 4R100 was NOT back-spec'd to Mercon V.

You'll be find whichever route you choose.

Are you sure that it's not semi-synthetic?

If it's Merc V there'd better be at least a little bit of synthetic to it. 02Escape since you've already bought it use it. A good flush before the Merc V wouldn't hurt. And don't forget the power steering.

how do you know this?

From a question I posted to a BITOG member who recently retired from Pennzoil and has contacts there.
