Any recommendation? The OEM one is made of gold ($60 / qt) and I don't think I can afford it.
I see red line 75w-85 has the OEM approval, any thoughts on that?

It's odd that many manufactures recommend 75w85 these days but the common brands like Valvoline/M1 don't have this viscosity. I have a lot of 75w-90 at home but not sure if I want to put them into the mercedes.

If you can’t afford the correct fluid, you can’t afford the car.
well i would say I can afford it, just don't want to pay a premium for OEM logo. For example, this 239.71 MB OEM is $60-70, which is made by Fuchs. Their 1L bottle is about $40.

I'm posting for collecting some recommendation, not discussing the personal value on branding. Thank you for your catchy phrase though.
