Any recommendation? The OEM one is made of gold ($60 / qt) and I don't think I can afford it.
I see red line 75w-85 has the OEM approval, any thoughts on that?

It's odd that many manufactures recommend 75w85 these days but the common brands like Valvoline/M1 don't have this viscosity. I have a lot of 75w-90 at home but not sure if I want to put them into the mercedes.

If you can’t afford the correct fluid, you can’t afford the car.
well i would say I can afford it, just don't want to pay a premium for OEM logo. For example, this 239.71 MB OEM is $60-70, which is made by Fuchs. Their 1L bottle is about $40.

I'm posting for collecting some recommendation, not discussing the personal value on branding. Thank you for your catchy phrase though.

Hello.
Few days ago I replaced factory oil with Fuchs Titan Sintopoid FE 75W-85 on my GLC 250d Coupe. After that I noticed noise when turning left or right at low speed. Many people had the same problem with same oil and solved it by replacing it with genuine 239.71 oil. Fuchs Titan Sintopoid FE 75W-85 is approved by MB for front differential according to 235.7 and 235.74, but it is just RECOMMENDED by Fuchs according to 239.71 for rear differential. I made 800 kilometers with Fuchs and going to replace it with genuine MB oil to see will there be any result. I hope it is not too late.
Did you have same issue and how did you solve it?

Hi, no. I bought the genuine 239.71 eventually. It was only $40 on fcp so not worth the risk to use others which saves probably $20.

Mine more than 1 liter, approximately 1,1 or 1,2 liter. I filled it until new oil started to flow out through fill hole. According to maintenance instructions it should be between 0,8 and 1,0 liter. Probably not true.

Not all differentials are filled by letting it run out the fill plug.

Any are filled with a specified volume, and if you go over that volume, you have over-filled it, even if it isn’t up to the fill plug height.

In those cases - It’s a fill plug only - not a fluid level check device.

I am happy to hear that. As I said I am going to buy genuine MB 239.71 oil which costs 80 dollar here, so I don't have to by 2 bottle (maybe). 😁

How much does it hold? Many euro cars don't even hold 1 qt.
From WIS, there are three type of diff housing. Depends on the marking , they take 0.8-1.05L
