Well then I view compression results written on these pages as anecdotal evidence, the same as any of the written testimonials about various products. Now did I call the people posting compression results liars? No, years back I posted compression results which showed an improvement with MMO. So what? The bottom line is you have to believe the person posting the results, just as you have to believe the person posting the anecdotal evidence. So basically we're at the same point we started at. JMO

Exactly! We basically have anecdotal testimony when it comes to these engine cleaners and oil supplements. We have to rely on the honesty of the person who supplies the testimony. Compression testing and photographs can certainly help, but in the end we depend on the person who submits the testimony.

a simple compression test with no verification I am going to have something to say about that.

So, you want people to talk about their experience, with no verification.

But if that experience includes a compression test that isn't verified you will *have something to say about that"?

Make up your mind.

If you read his posts, Mystic is bringing into question that member's claims that his (unverified) compression testing results are scientific evidence that trumps other members' anecdotal evidence. There is nothing inconsistent with his statements.

Obviously I read it. Can't have it both ways. Especially since a before and after compression test trumps statements like "It *seems* to work.

I did ask you which poster you were talking about, but you did not give the name.

You just said that they were testing a promoted product.

Who is this person, what product are you talking about, and who was promoting it?

Simple questions from my side. No need for you to state other points again and again. I have read them every time. Promise!

It *seems*, based on past history, you're not going to get a definitive answer.

I think it all boils down to is who posts the results and who posts the testimony. Remember anyone can jot down compression numbers, and a few weeks, or months later post a new set showing an improvement. The bottom line is if you believe the person posting.

Just so long as the people who demand scientific proof here and then try to promote a product here realize that the burden of proof is on them.

I think it always has been. Common sense dictates to take everything said here with a grain of salt.

Believe an anonymous poster on *any* product? It isn't always who you believe. One's own feelings on a product plays a part. A large part. (Like those who thought Artem was in Frank's pocket because he said ARX worked better than Kreen.)

I'd rather not. Claims made without any evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

Despite the claim that you need the resources of a billionaire, you don't even the resources of some kid mowing lawns for pocket money to keep records.

Few people, unless they're running a con to get your money, are going to take the time to gin up a bunch of numbers. Not if they know that everyone who looks at will not take it at face value.

Someone like dnewton3, who put up the numbers about ARX, and stated flat out that it works, (And he was very skeptical beforehand.), carries far more weight with me than some one who says " it actually seemed to stop a seal leak."

But hey, we all have our own way that works for us

Let me clarify, posters like dnewton3, Buster, Doug Hillary, Trav, and several other long time members I don't consider anonymous posters. Now someone coming here with a month or so as a member spouting off is another story. Then we have members coming back with new names posting success stories with a clear agenda, that's another story. Common sense comes into play. Obviously you trust dnewton3, I trust him too, I also had similar success with raising compression with MMO.

It is kind of curious these brand new people who show up here and seem to have an agenda. And really, let us be honest-we all know about the three or so guys who endlessly get banned and endlessly show up again and again and again with new user names and apparently new IP addresses.

I seem to remember a brand new guy who showed up here and started to promote a product.

One thing I would like to see-I would like to see the product promoters openly declare that they are promoting a product. I would have more respect for them.

Because seriously I respect the honest member who comes here and tells his story the best he can. The guy who honesty tells what his experience with a given product is. I respect that guy a whole lot more than anybody who is here to promote a product and will not admit it.

Hi Mystic,

While I appreciate all the advice and information you have shared eg demarpaints 40 year usage of MMO and Molakules advice not to use additives, I am at a loss to understand what the topic of members getting banned, members promoting products and a certain, still unnamed members compression tests have to do with me or my original question.

As you've been essentially saying the same thing for about 3 pages now, I will ask the moderators to lock this thread.

That does not detract in any way from my appreciation for the time and effort you have put into responding to my questions.

Regards

I think the moderators can determine on their own if a thread needs to be locked. But since you started this thread you can request it be locked. That is fine with me. Things did not work out quite as you thought they were going to work out, did they?

Good idea lock the thread! This topic has been discussed and beaten to death more times than any of us can count, and you know it. All the info you got from this thread could have been found with a simple search, but that's no fun.

Yeah, all of this is old news. Everybody who has been here a while already knows about the people who try to promote products here. Everybody who has been here for a while already knows about the three or so guys who keep getting banned and come back with new user names-re-run after re-run after re-run.

We should talk about something interesting like MMO or Kreen.

Hello Mystic and Trav,

I think you both have me confused with somebody else.

It seems at this stage you will believe what you want to so I have little chance of changing your mind.

These forums should not suffer because I am discussing topics and you feel a need to argue with me because you believe I am somebody else.

So this is what I will do:

I will stay out of threads that you start.

I will not reply to any of your posts in any threads.

In return, feel free to comment on my posts in a constructive way.

I hope we can co-exist on these forums.

Regards

This thread became pretty boring. To answer your questions:

1. Yes, MMO is safe. Everyone I know that has been using it for years have never had an issue due to the use of MMO.

2. I don't know the answer to the second question. I'm not your mechanic.

Now lets close this thing up and get on with more important things...who will win the Indy 500?
