Went to three WM's yesterday looking for Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5w20 and only found one 5 quart jug ...is it that popular , does WM not order regularly , or is there a new formulation coming ? Plenty of other oils on the shelf - just the MC seems affected .

I can't figure out Walmart, nor can anyone else... They frustrate me!
Time to move to a full synthetic maybe 
Always plenty at my Walmart also, AZ and Oreilys carry it for a little more money

Yeah last time I was in Walmart I saw a sticker with the new $14 price, but no 5w20 or 30 to be found jugs or quarts. The only remaining oil was 15-40 diesel oil. I wonder if they are preparing to meet the new 5 spec. I asked the Tire Lube and Express guy about this and he said well its just a popular oil. Ive never seen it this low before.
At Walmart there is all the Pennzoil conventional you want in quarts and jugs (the negative myth still at play perhaps) yet most consider Pennzoil conventional a very close second to MC Syn Blend in performance . I like to use one oil and not top off with another , so if no stock on MC Syn Blend continues I'll just switch to Pennzoil conventional , save $2.00 a jug , run 5K OCI's and not look back .

Cant beat the Pennzoil conventional, Good choice. After I use my PU jug I have left, I`m going back to YB.

Grab the new Pennzoil conventional if you need oil and the MC is unavailable.
I vote for the Clean 5000 in replacement for the MC. I would use it in my Taurus if i wasn't going to use Synthetic. I used to use the MC syn blend though, i had no problems with it; good for the price.
Walmart has to be the most infuriating place to buy oil.
I bought the last jug of MC 5W-20 on the shelf a couple of weeks ago. Earlier this week when I heard about the price increase, I went back to grab a couple more hoping to get them at the old price. Not only did they STILL have none, the empty shelves were all marked $14.
PYB was still marked $12/jug, but they didn't have any of THAT, either! All they had were quarts of 10W-40...who the heck uses 10W-40 anymore anyway?????

My local walmart in the greater Cincinnati area was also completely dry of the MC Syn Blend. They didn't have quarts or jugs.
They did however have 1 last jug of the MC Super Duty 15w40? i think blend.
Prices seem pretty consistent at walmart with all other major brands.
I can't find Mobil 1 High Mileage in 5w30 flavor, do they come in this weight at Walmart?

I was considering the Mobil 5000 until another poster brought up the flash point - yikes ! For $1.00 more a jug the Pennzoil conventional has a much higher flash point . It may or may not matter - but nice to know you have the head room .
True! Something's going on. Since they raised the price by $2 a jug, two local Wally's are completely out MC Syn Blend jugs. Only a stray qt. or two.
But, with Pennzoil conventional currently at $12 a jug, I'm thinking it wouldn't be flying off the shelves anyway.
