MC FL-816 CUT OPEN

Off of a co workers 2012 Nissan Sentra with I'm guessing MC blend 5w30. Add this to list of MC/Purolator failures as holes in media are un acceptable. Especially for going 5,000 miles. Put a extra guard filter and some MAXLIFE Full Syn 5w30 in and on.

Looks like the oil just sat in the filter sucking up dirt and sat there thickening. Hope the engine isn't that dirty.

Thank you car 51 for the cut and post. WOW they are really garbage i stopped using them also and went with fram ultra. I will be cutting one open i took off my Moms 05 Grand Marquis with about 6 months and 2300 miles on it running QSUD 5w20 I just felt i had to get the motorcraft off of there.. When i cut it open i will post pictures. I put in a fram ultra XG-2 and 6 quarts of Mobil 1 5w20

That is the "Catch-22" with filters. Most filter makers will not draw conclusions from filters taken apart by outside sources from them.
