Off a older gentleman and friend of mines 2014 F-150 4x4 pickup with Eco Boost 3.5 engine. I installed this filter and MC blend 5w30 late last fall for him. He supplied the MC 5w30 blend and another FL-500S

Oil looks pretty black for 6K-any fuel smell? I've been wondering if one of the 3.5 EB trucks would be a good idea for a LD (sub 7K lbs.) tow vehicle or not. Filter looks good, though.

Actually it's the Darn'd lighting making oil look that way as the oil was kinda amberish colored. Filter looks good also.

Was a slight fuel smell but he does 60/40 city highway driving when he does that is. He's retired so doesn't drive it much.

I've got 2,2xx miles on my oil and it's turning dark already. Can someone tell me what to look for on these cut up filters? I've been following these posts for a few months now and not sure what I'm hoping to see other than tears in the filter.

I've got a oil cutter on my Amazon list...it will arrive no later than late April when I change my oil.

I bought the Longacre cutter. It is a very high quality tool: I almost want to put it on display.
