ECOGARD X 2500 oil filter CUT OPEN

Friend of mine and fellow US NAVY veteran that lives 1.5 hours north of me was in town Thursday til today. His 2018 F-150 truck had this filter and Mobil 1 5w30 in and on for 7,xxx miles. 44,600 on odometer and truck is 4WD and has 3.5 eco boost engine.


Put more Mobil 1 5w30 ad a Fram ULTRA XG 10575 in and on.

7k is a decent run on the ecoboost & this ecogard but you did him a great service by replacing it with an Ultra.

Have you seen any oil filters that you really don't like? I like your recent factory filter cut-opens. I have only started cutting filters open recently.
I typically have been using Toyota and Subaru OEM filters. I find the Toyota filters well made and I like the Subaru because of the higher bypass setting. I seem to remember fiber end plates on the filter element of the Subaru OEM filters. I have never seen a fault with the OEM filters though.

The ones I dislike are some of the made by Purolators like TecSelect and Mighty as end caps falling off.

Well, he’s like me or in budget so for $2 at Rural King it did the job well.
