^^^ Thanks for clarifying information. Perhaps no aesthetic beauty, but bottom line it got the job done. What counts.

Thanks for the c&p.

Car51 - when I see one like this it makes me think I should switch from the FL820S to the FL500S.

I don't seem to see issues with MC filters other than the FL820S.

Does this agree with your findings?

I dunno to be honest. there have been a few MC filters that have torn. I may use my other FL-910S only for 5k and that's all.

Glad it ".....got the job done" but how do you know?

How do you know any filter dissected and posted here "got the job done." I would imagine that it means the OPs observe and note/post no media breach/tear or failure otherwise. And also answered similarly in any follow up questions and/or points.

Unless there's some other unobservable detail that no one would notice in any circumstance of cutting and posting pics of any filter, that's all there is. Using that definition the topic filter "got the job done". As it's not a scientific finding, there will be subjectively with any c&p.

Beyond that, if looking aesthetically perfect (ie. always perfectly straight uniform pleating) no matter the OP's observations and notes/answers, then the same could/should be applied to any filter posted here. Using that standard across the board, then many filters posted here in the past from 'all' brands would be suspect. Haven't seen that standard generally applied to the many c&p's I've seen/observed posted here. My.02.
