I'm curious if anyone knows of someone that has used MC 5w20 and gone over 200,000 miles? I'm on my second interval with it in the Accord, which now has 134k. I see no reason to switch, but I've been tempted once again to try the new M1 formulas.

I'd like to really know how clean MC 5w20 is keeping these 4.6 Mustang engines. I'm using Ultra 5w20 in the 3 now and will continue because I drive that car pretty hard. For the Honda, I think the answer is stick with the MC. Their GF-5/SN version should be even better.

If I went to 199,000 and it was on MC5-20 and the engine was not so clean I would thank the Lord either way. It is more how they got to 200,000. Hway or short trips thousands of them. Wow.

My son uses it in both his 06 F 150 and 07 Expy. Both engines have about 70K and have varnish. As he has the Ford dealer in Gainsville, Fl. do all of his maint. so he recently switch to MC synt hoping the varnish will subside. He would go with M1, but the dealer doesn't carry it.

I'm 3000 miles into a 4000 mile interval of MC 5W20 in my old Saturn 1.9 (150,000 total miles).

It's showing the lowest oil consumption of anything I've used previously (less than one pint consumed) - and this car has seen just about all the popular brands - conventional and syns.

For the price I think the stuff is magic.

Buster, over at Crown Vic .net, many members run the MC 5w20 which is a syn-blend, and have several hundred thousand or at least well-over 100k on the Ford 4.6. It is a highly respected oil there. I would have no worries. I am currently running Kendall Titanium 5w20 in mine (both MC and Kendal bottled by Connoco Phillips) and thru its life thus far it has had much MC5w20 in it as well. Nice and clean looking thru the oil-fill cap

I had the oil changed at a mechanic and when he drained the oil he asked me what was in there, told him MC. He said he was impressed because it looked brand new, and for 30k up until that point, all i used was mc.

I want to add to my post. My son, in my view did go too long with his OCIs with the MC semi synt. At times he went 8-9K. For shorter OCIs,say 5-6K, MC semi should be great. Sorry my first post may have been mis leading.

I was getting a little worried after seeing this post yesterday.

Thanks! It's definitely a great oil for the $$ and in general.
