MC 5W-20 vs MC 5W-30

The attractive price and very good used oil analysis have me seriously thinking about switching over to this oil. Both the wifey's Corolla and my Tacoma call for 5w30, and I want to stick with that weight.

But I don't see the MC 5w30 talked about much here, mostly it's the 5W-20 that can be bought at Walmart in the jug that gets all the attention.

Here's my question...Is the 5w30 MC as good a product as the 5W-20 MC for 5k - 6k OCIs?

i dont see why not, its the same thing only more weight. if you cant find the MC 5-30 at wal mart, try a place like oreilly or a parts store like that, napa and carquest may have have it but more than likely only have their brand of oils.

Yes, its a very good oil. Use it with no worries!

My local Walmart only carries MC 5w30 in the 1 quart bottles. So you have to pay more then if you bought the 5 quart jug of 5W-20.

Well, I figured it was decent stuff, it just never gets talked about on here.

Yeah, Walmart has it in the quarts for about $3 a bottle. Wish they had it in the jugs, but oh well.

my old now gone 94 Grand marquis 4.6 V8 loved MC 5w30 the best.
I tried different oils: Pennzoil Conventional, mobil drive clean etc in it. it burned less oil and ran quieter on MC 5w30, It hated Pennzoil Conventional.

autozone and murrys carrry the 5-30 but I have seen qaurts only, I like the 5-20 so much in my ford I have thought about using the 5-30 in my chevy and also had the same question, is the additive pack as good etc.

Motorcraft spec's from 5W-20 to 10w30 look pretty good across the board on paper...

I've thought about using their 5w30 in my dad's Mercury Sable...I would imagine that if you have Phillips66 Troparc oil available, it's virtually identical to MC...
