Mazda FL22 alternative?

No, VC-10A2 is the same as FL-22. VC-5 is regular green coolant.

Not wanting to spend an arm and a leg but wondering what coolant is good to replace the factory Mazda fill in my 2.0L skyactiv. It's a HOAT if I'm not mistaken and dark green.
If you go to the auto parts store, look for the "asian vehicle green" made by either Zerex, Peak, or Prestone. All the same.

My local trusted mechanic replaced the FL22 on our 2015 Mazda 5 with Pentosin Pentofrost A3. It was hard to actually uncover, but the product description does state somewhere "... with FL22." Our 2013 Mazda 6 will have that same replacement soon. Local availability is a factor in my "cost" considerations as the dealership is 30+ miles away.

A3 is premixed 50/50 and is blue. I *think* the A2 is the same application as A3 but is undiluted and dark green (please research for yourself just to be sure). If I recall the original Mazda FL22 is a 55/45 mix ratio. That might be something to consider.
