My bud's a mechanic who has recently acquired a 2000 model Dodge Intrepid. It was sold for salvage because the 2.7 litre engine (which is known for sludging) had failed.
He bought another engine--yes, another 2.7
--to replace the original. This second engine has about 60,000 miles on it.
Unless the owner of the car which this replacement engine came from used synthetic oil exclusively, it's very likely this engine also has sludge.
We're thinking AutoRX, and/or Mobil 1 5W30 for a few 3000 mile OCI's.
What say you guys?
Dan
