In August of 2012 I purchased a 2003 Ford Escape with 157K on it. There was an oil leak at time of purchase, but since it was new to me I had no idea the extent of the leak. I dumped the oil and put in PP 5w-20. I ran that oil for 1,000 miles and in that period of time I probably added 1 to 1.5 quarts. I thought that amount was excessive so I came here to BITOG and started reading....reading and reading some more. I came away with two items.....use Maxlife and check/change the PCV valve.
Changing the PCV valve on that Duratec V6 was a major pain. From what was pulled out I doubt it had ever been changed. I also added Maxlife in the 5w-30 flavor and a NAPA silver filter. Since that work was performed one month ago, the oil level on the dipstick has not changed. There is the occasional small drop on the driveway but nothing of consequence.
I am sold on Maxlife! I am sure the PCV change had some impact but I think that Maxlife is also a star performer. I'll keep you all updated if anything changes.
I just wanted to pass along my positive experience with Maxlife.
