Car is 95 Corolla with 3spd auto and 180k miles, will be changing ATF soon (no filter, just a drain and refill).

At 120k I tried Maxlife and liked it, and at 150k I tried Chevron Dex III but don't like it as much. I noticed that Dex VI from Valvoline said Full Synthetic (most likely a GRP III), and sell for around $6, Maxlife is around $4 (not synthetic).

Which one would be better for a 30k interval? Transmission has no leak (engine does, will fix soon) and will only consider over the counter fluid (no Amsoil or Redline, etc).

Stick with Maxlife since you have an older transmission. It should have stuff to help your seals too.

Their MSDS is not outdated. This looks like a full synthetic. Even though their bottle and MSDS sheet say otherwise.

stick with maxlife regular atf and its a BLEND not a full syn.. i used maxlife dex3 in my tacoma for awhile and no issues.. if i were you i would use it and just do a drain and fill every 15-20k miles pending on how hard you drive it.. no brainer here

Valvman just PM me back after I asked. He said Maxlife ATF is indeed synthetic (Valvoline's Synthetic, I assume GRP III).
