2010 F150 with 4.6L 2V, 4 spd auto. Just swapped out the fluid in the trans, went with Maxlife Dex/Merc ATF. This trans is spec'd for Mercon LV, which the Maxlife claims it meets. Anybody else using Maxlife for Mercon LV ? Yes, I searched, but nothing specific came up. Don't think I'm very good at using the search function

Thanks !

the search function is fairly fail.

i believe LV is the lower viscosity version of mercon V?

so I'm not sure how it could meet both.. but i guess the worst that could happen is you lose a mpg.

The MaxLife Dex/Merc is a relatively thin ATF. Its viscosity at 100*C is only 6.1 cSt, which is nearly exactly what MERCON LV is (source: Infineum article). I'm sure the MaxLife will work well in this application.

Yes Maxlife is lower viscosity so that it can meet LV and Dex VI, while also meeting Mercon V and Dex III. The lowered viscosity does not prevent backspecing.
