I just wanted to post that I had purchased my new daily (the TL will be a weekend/summer vehicle). Dumped the ATF that was in there, it was turning brown (probably Z1). Changed the fluid to Maxlife ATF I had kicking around drove for a week and half. Shifts improved but not all that great.

So Thursday I picked up a Magnafine filter (didn't realize the car had a factory external filter until some research), also filled it up with Maxlife ATF and added a bottle of Lubegard Red that I had as well.

Shifts are quick and crisp and its been 5 days now and still the same.

Here's a quick video I made (sorry it was raining pretty bad).

I use the Max-Life ATF and LubeGard Red in a Mercedes diesel and its a good combination, shifts have improved and the fluid holds up better than any other cheap fluid.

I've been debating on maxlife aft. Did the lube guard contribute to the better shifts?

Give it a try, its working well for me and looks like many others here.

I wish I did a before and after.

I have been running the ML ATF in the 2012 Civic since 30K. We are now coming up on 90k and it shifts like new.

I'm waiting for all the folks that will jump in and say you have to use DW-1 or your transmission will grenade.

Why not just use the LubeGard ATF?

not easily attainable in Canada.

I basically did the same thing to my Toyota Avalon and Corolla: magnefine filter, Maxlife ATF, and Lubegard Red. The Avalon is shifting better, and the corolla is still just fine.

Lubeguard is a good thing to add to mineral dex/mercs, I wouldn't add it to a superior fluid like Maxlife and mess up the delicately the balance. It's also unnecessary with DexronVI as well.
