While reading through my friend's June issue of Road&Track, I came across an advertisement for Valvoline Maxlife. All seemed well until I noticed that the red bottle of Maxlife in the picture had 5w-20 on it. Is Valvoline coming out with a 5w-20 grade in Maxlife? Their website does not show this oil in 5w-20 in either blend nor synthetic. Anyone have any information if Maxlife will be available in 5w-20?

It's already out. Someone even posted a picture of a bottle that they saw in a store. A quick search doesn't show me the thread, but it's around somewhere.

I'm on my first complete OCI with maxlife 10/30 in my 3.3L
and the leak has slowed a lot. I'm hoping after 2-3 more OCI's and I will continue on with Maxlife that the leak will stop, but even if it doesn't stop completely, it has definately helped. I think at least it will buy me some time until I absolutely have to have any seals replaced.

I emailed Valvoline to see what the HT/HS viscosity of this oil is. I'd bet it's 2.8 to 2.9 cP. If so, I'm trying it.........................during the summer...............in my 94 Corolla (I can already hear the "clack clack clack.....knock knock knock").

5w30 was 3.2 as of the SL spec. I am curious to know the 5w20 HTHS. Well, if your car is a '94 why not run 30 wt? But if you run 5w20 and don't like clack, clack, clack, get a bottle of VSOT.
