Max life exceeds?

Just a quick question. Maxlife syn blend (red bottle) says it exceeds Dexos 1 but obviously isn't officially licensed as they don't have the green leaf more the license number but my question is if they claim it exceeds it dose that mean it's true? I mean if they make that claim wouldn't they have to be able to back it up? We have seen before that Dexos 1 on the Lubrizal chart exceeds GF-5 in some areas so for if ML is correct and it indeed exceeds Dexos 1 it makes it a great oil for HM applications. Is it just their way of saying don't worry we meet Dexos with out having to pay for it or are they using some sort of bait and switch?

I had thought the same thing-but the 5W30 ML is actually licensed now.

Do you have a link. On the Valvoline website they don't list the license number next to the claim like Mobil does and I don't remember seeing the green leaf on the red bottles at my local Walmart.

I spoke with a gentleman at Valvoline, and he said it is indeed ok to use in GM cars/trucks.

I just changed my oil with 5w30 Max Life. Green leafy thing on the reddish jug. Reminded me of Christmas lol

The 5w20 is dexos licensed also. I just used it in my 2000 Focus.

I've seen the Mag1 Dexos1 oil cheap on Amazon before, stay tuned!

Advance Auto Parts has Havoline synthetic on sale, $19.99 with a Driveworks oil filter (for $2 more, you can upgrade to P1).

Carquest has the same sale, except the standard oil filter is CQ Red, made by Fram (the upgrade filter is Bosch, a reboxed P1 but without the textured grip)

Pennzoil dexos1 blend is another good option, but MaxLife can be hard to beat, particularly out of convenience alone.
